The Power of Tape
A lot of people that I've spoken to their the massive turning point for them was having access to a tape recorder. And like tape when it came along was just so empowering right? Yeah it was well before that was a little wax cylinder and the tin little cans. It was a way to document a performance. As it is now like we have all this help in our computers and these digital means of creating things and the clabo, the invisible collaborations that we're talking about. The early tape machine the cool thing about it was I didn't realize until I got older. We got to get another tape. That music evaporates into the ether.
