Decentralization vs Centralization?

The idea of decentralization is the most common thing that i've heard come up across just my own, you know, research and in looking into web three. I think one main difference, and this is getting into kond of lic wy, block chains are different than a centralized data base. And so at the end of the day, isn't that still centralization? So i bould say, when we start thinking about, first of all, scaleability of applications, and like, what is the difference between decentralization and centralization?
