Sally Kohn: The reaction of this group of highly privileged 17 year old school kids was enough to end the career of somebody who'd been in the New York Times for 47, 48 years. She says that they were offended by McNeil's skepticism about what the Shaman said or by his skepticism about the ills of cultural appropriation. "It's really a striking way in which we're sort of downplaying intent," she says. 'This whole idea has really been institutionalized on campus'

There is a lot of bad advice going around these days. If something bad happened to you, define yourself by your trauma.
