Harriet came one morning to Emma with a small parcel in her hand, and after sitting down and hesitating, thus began. Harriet: 'If you are at leisure I have something I should like to tell you, sort of, confession to make, and then you know it will be over' "I am too much ashamed of having given away as I have done," she continued. "'How could I so long a time be fancying myself?'"'Seems like madness,' said Harriet. The deaths say you understand me."
