I realized I had never created a space in my life to admit to myself the things that were uncomfortable, but that were true. What people, especially extroverts, what's really hard to appreciate is that whenever you're talking to someone, like 99% of your unconscious mind is trying to track their body and their breathing. And we are conforming what we say and what we do to try to fit into what we think will make them like us. If you don't have a space in your life to cultivate connecting to what you actually feel and what you actually think, you only know yourself through talking to other people.
