The book of Revelation is not really a coherent narrative. Though it does foretell what will happen at the end of the world, we don't get that as like a plot. What we have are like bursts of imagery, which is actually quite difficult to put together. So this is like almost a post-modern work in a pre-modern era. Exactly.
