I went to a conference about protecting children from abuse and there was no one on a church staff doing any workshop or on any of the panels you know pastor no children's redirected just nothing. I read through 15, 20, 25 top protection policies from across the country and then rewrote ours which forced me to start thinking through like not only our firewall but then what does everybody else do? It may not be common for most churches but it does happen and we need to be ready for it so those are a number of factors that came to play that made me write it.
