Changing the Business Model for Databricks
At Databricks, we used to be an organization that spoke to our customers about committed contracts. And then at the beginning of COVID, we decided to change the whole company. We said we're not going to value that anymore. We want to be more customer obsessed and so we pivoted the entire company to a consumption model. That's really important, right? Thinking about the commercial construct you will have with your customers is critical but at the same time then we had to pivot the entire go-to market organization.
