Ben: I feel like psychoanalysis is largely phased out, although it's not gone acidential psycho therapy. And i think where i agree with you, ben, is i think that students of this field have to be very critical about shiny objects. One of the real dangers is if therapists are privileging their own theoretical stants over how client walks in the door and ther preferences of how they want to be seen. The more revered some idea or theory becomes in our field, the more critically we should look at it,. because it runs the risk of blinding us to the fact that it isn't this all encompassing truth.
