Why I'm Not a Christian
In his 1986 book, which with co-author John Barrow, called the anthropic cosmological principle, Tippler at that point is an ex-Christian and he's an atheist. Then in his 1994 book, The Physics of Immortality, he says he's still an atheist. So I don't think you can entirely divorce religion from the mega point theory because of that. And yet you can see why it would take someone with a religious background like Tippler that very clearly knows quite a bit about theology,. To probably be the right kind of atheist to decide, I'm going to see if there's someone to get around the pessimistic nature of science.
