Mud skippers are creatures that almost feel very alien compared to anything else. They evolve this independently of terrestrial tetrapods. Their morphology positions their eyes atop their head. And these big eyes that you might not catch what it is that's amazing about them when you're watching them. It makes them somehow more relatable and more human-like.
