The Issue Isn't the Tenure of an R&D Head
Big pharma is a cyclical industry, and there's no way to sustain growth at the level that our shareholders demand purely organically. And so what you tend to see is short-sighted decision-making. I think a lot of that is reflected in the short tenure of an R&D head often. The fact that the incentives aren't aligned with longer-term nature of the industry.
