Lucas: I had read part of this one book while back, and all this discussion brought me back to it. The effect of gold on the culture in spain at the peak of all this gold coming in. And then as they started to mess with the currency, and people started to have these big moral panics about morality is going downhill. Lucas: Even the whole sense of truth is sort of what is true any more because the value of money was starting to be questioned. It had this kind of deeper cultural rotting effect.
