The Pullman Strike
The Pullman strike was a labor unrest that starts in Chicago out of a rail strike but really gets to the point of shutting down commerce throughout a significant part of the country. The move to attempt to annex Hawaii which Cleveland inherits in his second term it is done right before he comes back into office which he resists because he thinks that the American ambassador has essentially been proxy to a coup there. There are all these things that he could have if he had played a different role in them like if he was responsible for us acquiring Hawaii as opposed to the one who was trying to stop it. That would be an intelligible legacy in the year 2022. If he took the country off the gold standard
