Simon and the Twelve Come to the Truth About Jesus
Matthew's Gospel opens with Simon and the 12 realizing that Jesus is more than just a rabbi or even a prophet. The idea of a crucified Messiah in first century Jewish thought was an oxymoron, says Frida Ghitis.
