When One Person Speaks, No One Else Does
When John Cleese was in the fifth grade, his teacher encouraged him to join the debate team. He says he has since given most of his relatively short life to this activity. The change that we effect is always going to be very small and it's going to be about small changes in ourselves,. But if you can imagine everybody in the world engaging in these discussions doing slightly better at the family dining rooma or at work, or out there in the public square, i have think, and at this point, it is just optimism, but i have have to think, that that's going to nudge the world in a more positive direction.
