The Negative Impacts of Two Customers
In Western Europe, you have to get your car past a roadworthiness test once a year. Now fairly soon they're going to start checking that the software has been upgraded. And this means that when the car vendor no longer provides software upgrades, the car presumably has to be exported or scrapped. This is an environmental disaster because at present the average age of a car when it's scrapped in Europe is 16 years. So if that is reduced from 16 years to 10 years what happens to all these millions of 10 year old cars? Do we export all of them to Africa? There's probably not the market for it. And in Africa how do people drive them? This is another problem.
