Is the Higgs Boson Related to the Speed of Light?

As things approach the speed of light, they get more massive as if like an electron is getting as heavy as a car. We don't really think about things literally gaining mass. It's just that it takes a bigger push to notch them up to the next level of velocity. So yeah, sort of a deep philosophical mystery why that is, why do we live in the universe that way and not some other way?
