What Happened to the Build Back Better Bill?
An idea that was included in a discussion around the formation of the build back better bill. It would have tied direct payments and unemployment insurance extensions to an economic indicator, physically the unemployment rate. The benefits would keep going out until you reach that level of unemployment. And the benefit, obviously, of this is that you're not setting an arbitrary date, and you don't have to rely on congress to pass another extension.
