The Relationship Between Discipleship and Identity

When we think about discipleship as an identity journey, suddenly so many other things make sense. We don't do change well unless we trust and we don't know what we're changing into without relationship with God that's right relationship with one another. You literally can't be a disciple if you're just by yourself studying, you can't be discipled by somebody you have met or even someone who is dead. If we can't ask the follow up question, if we can't go wait why what does that mean then it's not discipleship because it's not identity formation.
