There would be no point in coming up with a theory of justice that couldn't then withstand the knowledge of who we are. That's why it's called reflective equilibrium. And Rawls painstakingly does the dropping of the veil and the lifting of the veil. It's all a thought experiment, but still these are two very different perspectives,. knowing and not knowing who we were.
