During this time, and there was what she calls the golden age of security, between about 19 hundred and the start of r one. People were largely thriving. But when things started to get bad, you know, we had the great depression. And then in like france, for example, the socialist parties were anti semitic because they were anti clerical parties. They didn't want to have any affiliation with the clergy. So then they lined themselves, at least reluctantly, with jewish people. It was only with the dryfis affair, which, again, we'll talk about in the next episode, that their support for anti-semitic rhetoric toned down.
