David Sassoon's Life in Baghdad

Baghdad was a flourishing city at the time of David Sassoon's birth. There were about 7,000 Jews there out of a total population of 50,000 which is incredible. A very corrupt governor comes in and begins to embezzle money from wealthy families. And so what leads to the family fleeing Baghdad? So governors changed. There were some good governors. There wereSome bad governors in 1829. He made the critical and important decision to go to Bombay.
