The US's Investment in the Horn of Africa Prevents Famine
There was recently a UN high-level pledging event on the Horn of Africa, which as you mentioned is at the core of one of the world's largest climate emergencies. There was a call for, in an immediate sense, a $7 billion investment to meet the needs of the Ethiopia and Kenya and Somalia. Unfortunately, only $2.4 billion was committed. And again, that's only touching the surface of what's needed to sort of move through this crisis. But we are seeing that these interventions work when we make the investment, but the global community must come to the table too.
