The Importance of Communication With Volunteers

NHN ran a pilot with the new volunteer management system to get volunteers registered. The one thing we learned was that because we didn't have an effective system for managing volunteers, it was a module that was attached to our HR system. If volunteer managers didn't keep us up to date with the contact details of those volunteers, we weren't in touch with them. And so there was lots of bounce back so we sent out emails as well and especially with staff being put on furlough, not all of those staff then had access to sending information to their volunteers. So communication I would have to admit was very poor in communicating with volunteers and letting them know what was going on. We did
