The Parlor Tricks of Intelligence

The parlor tricks aspect is the ability of a person or computer to regurgitate something that is structured in a way that appears intelligent. The thing that GPT can't do as far as we know, as far as I know, is invent something new. There's got to be a reason that we evolved to have feelings. It was an advantage. And so trying to push these things to have feelings or to pretend to have feelings is the way to manage ever increasing intelligence and capabilities.
