The Importance of a Neutral Currency

A lot of talk about de-dollarizing, but it's going to take a really long time. Once your unit of account and trade is denominated in your currency, that's such a deeply entrenched phenomenon. The idea of a neutral currency is actually really appealing because it's on a permissionless payment system where I don't have to depend on China or the US. But this commodity based system gold is going to win out pretty big from a lot of this. A lot of sovereign reserve assets are going to start shifting towards it as the eastern and western divide continues to sever.
