The Rise and Fall of Rome

Central Italy at this point in time when Rome was growing up was actually a very rowdy, vicious neighborhood. The Roman people had to deal with threats from pretty much every angle. Being Rome were a set of city states that kind of dotted the western seaboard of central Italy and along the river Tiber. These city states, known as the Latin League of Cities, was constantly fighting with one another for scarce resources.
