Matthew steart: America was particularly susceptible to it, even as early as the eighteenth century. The founders understood that anxiety gets channelled into one form of superstitious religion or another. That may be fine for individuals, but you must, at all costs, make sure that it does not get involved in ordering your society. i think america e has been able to get away with this kind of stuff because, graphically and for other reasons, we can't er be penalized too much for it.
