The Trends in COVID-19 Activity
The most recent updates from the WHO and the CDC indicate that with the exception of a few hotspots, COVID-19 activity continues to trend downward. There were 1.7 million cases and 10,000 deaths reported worldwide in the 28-day period leading up to June 4th. The latest variant data from the CDC signals that the XBB variant family currently accounts for around 99.9% of all cases in this country.
