Early Chain Saws in the Eighteenth Century
Osteotome was an alternative to the sisyrian section, which had a high mortality rate for witers. But as luck would have it, it was superseded by the giggly twisted wire saw in the late nineteenth century. It was ultimately cheaper and avoided the two main issues with the chain saw: breakage and the chain getting stuck in the bone.
