Viruses, Gain of Function Research

There's a lot of regulation and different things that have to happen for good reasons, but there's not co ordination. We sent e money to china a n i h did to do gain of function research on bat viruses because we wanted to plan for the future. But we end up doing is making super viruses that may or may not have escaped from the lab. You point out that science moves slowly. Absent a space race to get to the moon the time, this stuff moves really too slowly. And it's we're right up against the crisis, or the chinese are doing it, and now we go, what'll we do?
