The Importance of Samad's Great Grandfather

Samad is fixated with the story of his ancestor who may or may not have like started a Bengali's revolution. Mengele Ponde and or Pandy I suppose because then that double meaning of like being a coward comes up later but in 1857 he like fired a gun. Samad has kind of like hung his life's hat on this idea that his great grandfather was a person of importance.
