The Legend of Vlad the Impaler
In 1462, the Lechia belonged to one man. Any Ottoman ekindji who came this way again would be confronted with the sight of their rotting comrade impaled on the pole. Over the next 500 years, the legend of Vlad the Impaler would spread all across Europe. Eventually, it would define one of the iconic characters of modern fiction, Count Drakulia.
