Is There a Suffering in an Animal That Doesn't Have Personhood?

If there's even a single instance of suffering that occurs in an animal that doesn't have the sort of personhood or identity, or whatever it is we're talking about, then that would seem to be counterpoint to, or counter evidence to the the anon identity the odosy.
