Garry smith: It's not fair or meaningful to predict which companies will do well. After looking at which companies did well, those ere not predictions, they're just history. He says that survivorship is also true in in the mutual fund industry. The vast majority of money actively manage funds but people have caught on and are putting together a portfolio designed to do well in good times and bad.
