The Left's Disdain for Popular Sport

It seems like there's a kind of class element to a lot of this. Was Berlusconi like, for say, Italian, I would have thought lots of parties would have used that because we did a recent football episode. Football is always deployed in some way in the polity of any country. He bought AC Milan, no. But it seems like in Italy, there's a very serious intellectual class in a way that there certainly isn't in my culture.
