The White Space
On December 27th 2012, Sunando Sen was pushed off the subway platform and on to the tracks of an oncoming train by Erica Menendez. In October 2019 at a sporting event, two 17-year-old high school students of Indian descent perched on bleachers, menaced four black students,. Their peers, by screaming racial epithets and verbally threatening their lives. The young men of Indian descent were performing a familiar policing of space and black bodies. They were establishing their own roles as agents of white supremacy by producing anti-blackness.
