Not Giving Up When Things Are Going Poorly
The book, which I believe is quite good, began as a pamphlet, which was very bad. We needed the collaboration that came from talking to so many organizers about their experience and what they've learned along the way. So on the subject of not giving up when things are going poorly, we talk a lot in the book about the concept of doom and how it gets deployed in our movements. It's true. And I think we needed that terrible first draft of a pamphlet to understand that the project had to be a book.
