The Ordinary Path to Growing in Relationship With God

The reason why the lord permits some disciples of jesus christ to experience beautiful, extraordinary visions or elocutions is typically to draw that person and their surrounding community back into relationship with god. We cannot know god if we do not know god's voice through our time that we spend listening to god's in the word of god. It's terrible flaw in discipleship to be more interested and in reading and pondering and praying with books on spirituality or mysticism, more than the word of God. Those blogs and those books and writings on spirituality certainly have their place, but they should not be read and meditated and contemplated more than that which is the inspired, infallible word of god
