I'm pretty sure that we will stick with centrally coordinated coin joins for quite some time. The centralized coin join coordination is still a totally unsolved problem, especially at scale. So there's still a lot of room for improvement within the coin join realm. But I really think this is the way that a inefficient base money system like Bitcoin can be made anonymous without introducing extra costs or extra inefficiencies. And so if you consider the trade off of privacy, cost and speed, and usability as kind of to cherry on top, coin join is in my opinion, still unbeaten.
