Toronto Bike Week - A Celebration of Darcy's Life
Darcy's loved ones, friends and work colleagues were continuing to protest and raise awareness. Another vigil was held during the afternoon rush hour. And in the evening, they staged a massive memorial ride along bloer street,. Over 200 people on bikes occupied two east bound lanes of the four lane road all ringing their bells. It was both a tribute to darcy and a nod to the ongoing problem cyclists faced when sharing the road with motorists. The toronto cyclist union would release statement describing darcy's death as yet another painfully clear example of the need to better incorporate bikes and cyclists into our transportation network.
