In years past, freezing your credit and then lifting that freeze on your credit whenever you wanted to apply for a loan cost money. It cost about ten to 15 dollars per freeze and lift. And so as a result, fewer people did it. I'm shocked that it wasn't a ger story than it was. So that massive equa fac data breach, which happened in 20 17, put half of the us population at risk. Think about that. That is nearly half of the population of the united states. Freezing your credit makes it much, much harder for any one to do that. You have to be the person who actively lifts that frieze.
