Community Is Not a Group of Friends
Community is not necessarily the same thing as a group of friends. We live in a world with all sorts of weak ties and very few strong ties. For us, practising the way of jesus, real consequences, like you call each other out,. You hold each other accountable. And common response abilities. It's people who see you on the good days and in the bad, who don't see the curated version of yourself that always make up a never sad version of yourself but who see the real you. If we want community in depth, safe, honest, open long term relationships then we have to commit to a group of people that isn't idealized or perfect.
