The World Bank and the Petro Dollar

In the 70s interest rates were relatively low. The petro dollar system ended up really catalyzing this effect of lending to the global south. Robert McNamara was probably the most important leader of the funder the bank ever. Another notable leader of the World Bank was Paul Wolfowitz who had architected the Iraq war in early 2000s. So there's a lot of this going on and that makes sense because the bank and fund are very much part of US foreign policy and you know subjugate poor countries.
