Why Are the Angels There?

We bring angels into existence for us by undertaking and committing ourselves to difficult and formidable adventure. And so the reason scripture tells us that the angels were going up and coming down instead of what you might have guessed, is because these angels had been brought into existence by Jacob's courageous act of building himself a new life away from the influence of his brother Esau. The full depth of that meaning is hard to capture, but I'm sure everybody has at times felt that things are just going their way,. That somehow they are invisible forces that are moving them along and helping them coast to where they need to be.
