Is There an Opportunity in the Market for a Merger Arbitrage?
The Justice Department is suing to block jetBlue from buying spirit airlines. The department has been concerned that previous airline mergers have reduced competition and the industry. JetBlue CEO says that deal would ensure customers get a competitive airline marketplace. Spirit Airlines currently trading at $17 and 13 cents so there's just a huge gap Between the takeout price and where spirit is currently trading.
