What's the Story of Karl Sagan?

In the late thirties and forties and fifties, it was like everyone was captivated by the future. And there's a corresponding boost in technology from that era too. All of the stuff from about 19 75 on is actually built on the backs of the stuff that was first discovered or invented forty years earlier.
