The Importance of T Cells in Immune Responses to B Cell Depleting Therapy
In vaccinology, one of the holy grails has been trying to develop a vaccine where T cells are sufficient. A paper in Nature Medicine last year looked at circulating T cell pools in patients with multiple sclerosis treated with B celltoplating agents. And I think what was interesting there is while antibody responses were substantially blunted in these people, the filter helper T cell responses in the bloodstream seemed intact. So they were still able to generate these T cells.
