The author of E. Bruce is picking up the same two words as Paul using in Philippians chapter 1: He who began a good work in you is faithful to bring it into completion. The word that we translate is fixing our eyes on Jesus. It literally means to stop looking at everything else. Why? Because Jesus is the one who went first in this faith.
